In Business, Serendipity is for Sale

Everyone and your aunt has a story about serendipity. Serendipity tends to carry a romantic tone. And the film starring John Cusack, in which he plays, well, the same character he has played since the 80’s, doesn’t help the cause. But the truth is that when it comes to business, Serendipity has a dirty secret. The oldest and most disheartening truth about serendipity is that it is for sale. It has been for sale from the beginning of time. This is a cruel piece of information to have to pass  on from generation to generation.

I recently heard a very fitting joke… A man kneels in front of the church every day and prays to god to help him win the lotto. Day after day the man kneels in the same spot to no avail.

One day there is a sudden blinding flash of light as the heavens open up and the man is confronted by the voice of God Himself: "Buddy, meet me half way on this…. buy a ticket."

If you want to meet serendipity half way and find your next mentor, business partner or business opportunity then you need to “buy a ticket”. Join industry leaders at the table of exclusive membership organizations that  create positive change in your local or global community. While membership to an elite organization is pricey, you want to be surrounded by individuals with the highest level of financial commitment to a cause.  Think of your investment as a six-credit graduate course you commit yourself to every year to be surrounded and inspired by leaders of industry.
